A community forest management group in Tsirang started marketing non-wood forest products to earn cash. The Devithan community forest management group in Rangthaling came with wild yam, Amla, ziziphus fruits, brooms and home-made amla pickles for sale at the Damphu weekend market.

To promote futsal game in the country, the futsal championship tournament is underway in capital. The tournament began on 3^rd February at the parking lot outside Changlimithang stadium.

Until few years ago, Gasa Dzongkhag lacked most of the basic amenities like road, electricity, access to safe drinking water and mobile phone services. Today it boasts of all these facilities. With these basic amenities in place, the living standard of the people of Gasa has gone up in recent years. And now with the construction of the road, life has become much easier for the Gasaps.

A farmers’ group in Tsirang has exceeded the Dzongkhag’s target of producing 8,000 kilogrammes of chicken in the 10^th Five Year Plan. The group has produced more 24,000 kilogrammes of chicken in the last three years.

In keeping with the age old tradition, His Holiness Gyalse Truelku, for the first time arrived at its winter residence, Chorten Karpo, in Kabesa Gewog in Punakha. This is to revive the age old tradition practiced by Desi Tenzin Rabgye.  His Holiness will be staying there for about a month.

(Update) Five students and the driver of the school bus that met with an accident in Assam yesterday have been discharged from the Gelephu hospital today. The teacher who was taken to the lower Assam hospital and research centre in Bagaigon is in the Intensive Care Unit.
