Bhutan beats Qatar to reach Semis

Bhutan has entered the semi-final of the ongoing Asian Cricket Council under-19 women’s championship after beating Qatar. The match was played today in Kuwait. Bhutan won the match by eight wickets. Qatar won the toss and chose to bat first. They scored 77 runs in 24.3 overs and Bhutan made 78-2 runs in 20 overs.

Farmers’ Group in Tsirang doing well

A farmers’ group in Tsirang has exceeded the Dzongkhag’s target of producing 8,000 kilogrammes of chicken in the 10th Five Year Plan. The group has produced more 24,000 kilogrammes of chicken in the last three years.

HH Gyalse Truelku’s winter residence, reviving age old tradition

In keeping with the age old tradition, His Holiness Gyalse Truelku, for the first time arrived at its winter residence, Chorten Karpo, in Kabesa Gewog in Punakha. This is to revive the age old tradition practiced by Desi Tenzin Rabgye.  His Holiness will be staying there for about a month.

All students safe, headed home today

(Update) Five students and the driver of the school bus that met with an accident in Assam yesterday have been discharged from the Gelephu hospital today. The teacher who was taken to the lower Assam hospital and research centre in Bagaigon is in the Intensive Care Unit.
