A huge boulder crushed a 23-year-old man from Zhemgang when drilling a rock to place explosives for blasting at 10 AM, yesterday. He, along with a 27-year-old man, was working at the Ganglapong farm road construction in Monggar when a huge boulder tumbled down the slope and pinned him.
The man succumbed to multiple fractures, head injuries, and internal bleeding at Monggar Hospital, last night. The other man escaped with minor injuries.
The Dzongkhag Kidu Office in Lhuentse gave a semso of Nu 10,000 to the deceased’s wife on behalf of His Majesty.
