The ongoing oral transmission of Nyingma Gyubum in Gelegphu is seeing an increasing number of devotees daily. It is being presided over by Sangay Nyenpa Rinpoche

Thousands of devotees including the devotees from Sikkim and Kalimpong in India have gathered to receive the oral transmission.

The organisers had to pitch additional tents to accommodate the devotees.

“We didn’t expect an overwhelming number of devotees. When Rinpoche administers wang, we receive around 15 to 30,000 people,” Lam Nima, one of the organisers, said.

The organisers also added that the Nyingma Gyubum script is on the verge of extinct. So to revive the text, the oral transmission is organised for the well being of all the sentient beings.

The 40-day long Wang Lung ceremony will conclude on February 9.
