The Phuentshogling Dungkhag Court has sentenced four men to prison terms ranging from one month to 14 years and 11 months for voluntary manslaughter of a 25-year-old man.
The judgement was passed yesterday.
The main convict, a 28-year-old man from Trashigang, has been sentenced to 14 years and 11 months imprisonment. The court has also asked him to pay a compensation of about Nu 500,000 to the father of the deceased.
The convict had stabbed the deceased to death in January this year in Phuentshogling following a heated argument between the two.
The court sentenced the other three men for failing to report the crime. They can, however, pay Thrimthue in lieu of prison term.
