The National Council introduced the Attorney General Amendment Bill of Bhutan 2014 in the House, today. The Amendment bill has a new section which talks about the appointment of the Attorney General. The section outlines the authority and duties of the Attorney General. It also includes the authority to appoint the Deputy Attorney General.

A few of the member suggested some minor changes. NC’s Chairperson, Dr. Sonam Kinga suggested if the Legislative Committee could infuse the suggestions in the bill.
The Attorney General Amendment Bill of Bhutan 2014 will be further discussed in this session.
