The Drukair suspended at least four flights from Paro to Bumthang in the last two weeks due to bad weather in Bumthang.
As a result, Drukair had to refund airfares. Most passengers were tourists. The domestic flight manager, Namgay Wangchuk, confirms that the refund of airfares has affected Drukair’s revenue of Nu.700, 000.
Beginning this week, flights from Paro to Bumthang has resumed and there have not been any cancellations or delays.
Druk Air operates both domestic and international flights based on instructions from air traffic controllers at the international airport manned by the Department of Civil Aviation.
