A 38-year-old Man from Chaskhar in Monggar died on the spot due to explosion while fishing at Gishigwang from Gongri on last Sunday. He was using some explosive devices for fishing. Gishingwang is about 1 hour walk towards Thangrong from Sherichu.
He was accompanied by another 60-year-old man from the same village who claims to be innocent. He is under police custody. The police suspects that they might have used detonator to fish from Gongri.
Some of the people complain that the use of such explosive devices is not strictly monitored by relevant agencies. Detonator is mainly use in farm road for blasting huge rocks. The Monggar Police is still investigating the case.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man died, today, after being stung by hornets in Khomshar village under Bardo Gewog in Zhemgang. Although, health workers in Khomshar treated the bites, the man did not survive.
Local leaders say this is the first time such an incident has happened. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
