Bhutanese Boxer Kinley Phuntsho lost to his Indian opponent Mandengban Jadumani Singh in the quarterfinals of the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Asian Under-22 and Youth Boxing Championships today in Astana, Kazakhstan.

19-year-old Kinley in red fought in the men’s under-22 flyweight category. Despite going neck and neck with the opponent, he lost the match by unanimous decision.

The coach said Kinley fought very well despite the match being his international debut. He added that Kinley is technically good but the Indian boxer is tactically better because of a lot of international exposure.

Two other Bhutanese boxers were also eliminated from the tournament in the last five days.
