Guma Gewog in Punakha saw a good turnout for the gewog Zomdu meant for the National Council nominations. About 330 households attended the meeting, today. Regardless of a good turnout, many were unsure about their role in the meeting.
The election officials then briefed the gathering the purpose of such Zomdu. They were also told about the elections related events that will unfold hereafter.
The gewog does not have a contender for a seat in the National Council. However, the Dzongkhag has two council aspirants, one from Toewang and the other one from Talo Gewog.
Similar Zomdu will be held in Gasa after the annual Gasa Tshechu ends on March 22.
