RBP celebrates police raising day

The Royal Bhutan police celebrated the 47th police raising day today. The raising day this year was celebrated keeping in mind three keys activities. The key activities are Crime Reduction Competition among the superintendents and officers in command, launch of the project Friend of Police as part of community policing and Attitudinal and Behavioral Change of Policemen.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief of Police, Brigadier Kipchu Namgyel, said the total crime for the month of June this year has dropped to 411 cases in June from 448 cases in May. He said he is looking forward for reduced crime rates, increased detection, improved public confidence and enhanced services in the years ahead.

The Royal Bhutan police was founded and commissioned as the key law enforcement agency by His Majesty, Late Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in 1965.
