Reporters seek help of JAB

The reporters of The Journalist who have covered a story on the suicide of a student in Kamji Middle Secondary School requested the Journalists Association of Bhutan (JAB) to investigate and determine whether they have violated the journalistic ethics while covering the story.

The reporters have put up a letter to the JAB on Monday seeking intervention after the Education Minister during the 22nd Meet the Press accused The Journalist for having sensationalised the news and instigated the students to misbehave.

The letter states that the allegations are not true and that it is a serious charges against the reporters assigned to cover the story.

The letter is a request to the Association to look into the matter and find out the truth. Meanwhile, the steering committee of the Journalists Association of Bhutan has decided to look into the matter and talk to all the individuals involved in the matter at the earliest.
