The Dorji Lopen presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Utse or the main tower of the Lingzhi Dzong in Lingzhi today.
Built sometime between 1667 to 1680, the Dzong used to house the dungkhag’s Administration and monastic body back in its glory days. The Nu 400 M project is expected to be completed within the 12th five-year plan. The government of India funded the project.
