Week-long Thimphu Spring Trade Fair begins

The second Thimphu Spring Trade Fair began in the capital from yesterday. Many businessmen from as far as India and Nepal have gathered to show-case their goods at the Fair.

While the rupee crunch issue is still prevalent and the country is still facing acute shortage of rupee in the market, there have been concerns, that the problem might impact the trade fairs happening in the country.

In the meantime, varieties of consumer products, ranging from sculptures, furniture, leather products, to flowers, jewelries and textile products are being displayed at the Fair.

Over 70 participants from different countries have opened their stalls.

The week-long fair will end on Thursday. It is an annual event, organised by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
