MoLHR evaluating diploma courses

To assure that the courses offered meet the quality standards set forth by the ministry, the Ministry of Labour and Human Resources (MOLHR) is in the process of evaluating and accrediting certificate and diploma courses offered by various institutions in the country. The ministry has already completed accrediting the courses offered by government vocational institutes.

RBP celebrates police raising day

The Royal Bhutan police celebrated the 47th police raising day today. The raising day this year was celebrated keeping in mind three keys activities. The key activities are Crime Reduction Competition among the superintendents and officers in command, launch of the project Friend of Police as part of community policing and Attitudinal and Behavioral Change of Policemen.

Sherutse College observes ‘10 Days of Activism’

For the first time, students of Sherutse College in Kanglung, Trashigang joined more than 30 countries around the globe to mark the ‘10 Days of Activism’ today. 10 Days of Activism is an international youth forum where young people raise their voices and stand up for their rights.

2,000-year-old Nagtshang now a gewog office

The 2,000 year old Mendhagang Nagtshang at Dzomi Gewog in Punakha has been renovated finally as the new Gewog Office and RNR Centre for the people of Dzomi. The new Gewog Centre is centrally located and near the road head. Prior to the inauguration of the office which was on Thursday, people in the gewog had to walk uphill to reach the old gewog office. It has also saved funds for constructing an all new RNR center for the Gewog.

Sonam breaks record in mountain bicycle race

In the third annual Tour of the Dragon mountain bicycle race, Sonam, an employee of Aman Kora, came first breaking last year’s record of 11 hours and 31 minutes. He completed the 268 kilometre race from Bumthang till Thimphu in 11 hours.
