SamtseCourt-Dismiss-PCAL-Kuensel-CaseThe Samtse Dzongkhag Court has dismissed the defamation case filed by the Penden Cement Authority against Kuensel. According to the Court, PCAL failed to submit the details of distorted or false report as claimed in their earlier letter to the court last month.

The PCAL letter read the article by Kuensel ‘PCAL under deep water’ was based on some anonymous source which did not merit publication.

The other reason was, as per the Civil and Criminal Procedure Court of Bhutan; a court cannot register a case if the complainant already has a pending case.

The PCAL has a court case in Kolkata High court in India on the quality of cement.

The case was filed last month following a news article by Kuensel which the authority said lacked objectivity, professionalism and maligned the image of the company.
