The first round of the BoB Bhutan Women’s National League 2025 ended on Saturday, setting the stage for a competitive season. Leading the first round, Paro FC Women made a strong start with a solid win in their opening match. RTC Women FC, Under-19 Gelephu Girls Academy and Thimphu City also began with wins. Five matches were played in the first round.

Dominating the league table after round one is Paro FC Women, following a big 28-nil win over Samtse FC on Thursday last week. With this, they sit at the top with 3 points.

Defending champions, RTC Women FC, are close behind Paro FC Women after a 16-nil win over Gelephu City FC.

Also making strong starts are Under-19 Gelephu Girls Academy, Transport United Ladies, and last year’s runners-up, Thimphu City FC. All three teams have three points each, but are separated by goal difference.

On Saturday, the Under-19 Gelephu Girls Academy outclassed Phuentsholing Heroes FC with a 12-1 win at the Phuentsholing Sports Association Artificial Turf.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, Transport United Ladies put up an 8-nil win over the Under-17 Gelephu Academy Girls at Changlimithang Stadium.

Likewise, Thimphu City FC opened the 2025 season with a hard-fought 4-2 win against Ugyen Academy FC on Saturday, also at Changlimithang Stadium.

Meanwhile, Samtse FC had a tough start to the season and sit at the bottom of the table with a minus 28 goal difference.

Teams like Gelephu City Women FC, Phuentsholing Heroes Women FC, Under-17 Gelephu Girls Academy, and Ugyen Academy Women FC also lost their opening matches and will be looking to bounce back in the next round.

The 2025 BoB Bhutan Women’s League kicked off with 90 goals scored in just five matches, averaging 18 goals per game.
