A Cabinet sub-committee has been formed following the executive order by the Prime Minister to study the regularisation of contract employees. The committee has members from the Royal Civil Service Commission, health ministry, finance ministry, education and skills development ministry, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment.

As of today, there are about 5,000 individuals on contract in the civil service, of which, over 4,200 are on consolidated contract and the remaining on regular contract. The sub-committee’s report should be submitted to the government in a month.
