Gyalpoizhing-Nganglam secondary national highway is finally opened to light vehicles from yesterday after remaining closed for almost three weeks.
However, officials from the department of roads said, it would take a couple of days to open the road to heavy vehicles since rectification works are still ongoing. The highway remained closed to traffic since last month as the road width was washed away by a landslide at canopy area due to heavy rainfall.
Canopy area is almost 38 kilometres from Gyalpoizhing in Monggar towards Nganglam in Pema Gatshel.
