His Majesty The King awards Nga Dha Pal Gyi Khorlo to His Holiness

His Majesty The King awarded the Order of the Druk Gyalpo, Nga Dha Pal Gyi Khorlo, to His Holiness the Je Khenpo at the 111th National Day Celebrations in Samtse.

His Majesty conferred the medal on behalf of the people of Bhutan.

It is the highest decoration awarded in recognition of a lifetime of service to the people and Kingdom of Bhutan.

His Holiness assumed the role of Je Khenpo in 1996 at the age of 41.

His Holiness is the third recipient of the coveted and prestigious Nga Dha Pal Gyi Khorlo or the Order of the Druk Gyalpo.

The Nga Dha Pal Gyi Khorlo was first awarded to Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother, Gyalyum Kesang Choden Wangchuck and 68th Je Khenpo Chab Je Thrizur Tenzin Dendup in 2008.
