Duke and Duchess depart from Bhutan--The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left the country today. Prince William and Kate boarded their chartered flight to India earlier this morning. The Royal Couple were on a two-day visit to Bhutan on the invitation of His Majesty The King.

During their stay, His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen granted audience to the Duke and Duchess.

Prince William and Kate took part in archery match and other traditional sports hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck.

The Royal Couple also hiked to Taktshang yesterday, where Prince Charles of Wales had also made a short visit back in 1998.

A press release from the foreign ministry says the visit has reinforced the growing ties of friendship between the Royal Families and people of Bhutan and the United Kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess also interacted with students from Ability Bhutan Society and Draktsho Vocational Training Centre for Special Children and Youth.

They also met with Bhutanese who studied in the United Kingdom.

This was their first visit to Bhutan. They will be returning back to UK tomorrow.
