WaterProblem-Dremitse.People of Bikhar and Wongkhar of Dremitse Gewog in Monggar are infuriated after some people of Narang, including gewog officials, damaged their drinking water pipes. They want the authorities to take stern actions against them for the act, they describe as criminal.

On March 18, people from Narang Gewog including the Gewog Mangmi and Tshogpas slashed the drinking water pipes of Bikhar and Wongkhar village of Dremitse Gewog, infuriating the people of Bikhar. The people of Narang argued that they did warn them beforehand against tapping water from the particular source. They said they have bigger plans to take water to others villages of Narang. But the Dremitse gup turned a deaf ear to their warnings, and they had to cut the pipes, they said.WaterProblem-Dremitse

Angered by the act, the people of Bikhar and Wongkhar reported the matter to the Dzongkhag through the Gup. The Dzongkhag decided that the people of Narang will have to undo the damage. But the affected party is not satisfied with the decision. They say what the people of Narang did is a criminal act and they should be penalised accordingly.

The Monggar Dzongda said, as part of the administrative action, the first step is always to try and give the balanced resolution.

The Dzongkha has ordered the pipes to be restored within a week.
