Her Majesty Gyalyum Kesang Choeden Wangchuck launched the third edition of the book titled, “Zangdok Palri of Kurjey: A Sublime Manifestation of the Lotus Light Palace of Guru Rinpoche in Bhutan”, a trilogy that honours Guru Rinpoche and his sacred paradise, Zangdok Palri yesterday. Also present at the event were Yonten Lopen Trulku Namgay, Ashi Tashi Dorji, Her Royal Highness Princess Pema Lhadon Wangchuck, members of Her Majesty’s family and the book’s team from Bhutan and Thailand. The book offers an intimate glimpse into the Zangdok Palri temple at Kurjey, Bumthang.

It delves into the profound spiritual connection shared between Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Her Majesty, and her mother, Mayum Choeying Wangmo Dorji.

Their collective devotion was instrumental in bringing the Zangdok Palri temple to life.

Rich with stunning photographs and personal reflections, the volume also features a heartfelt foreword by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, along with an insightful explanation of the Maha Guru Prayer by Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal, a key prayer in Guru Rinpoche’s teachings.

This two-part book set includes the main volume and an accompanying prayer book, Path of Pure Devotion, which features Her Majesty’s favourite prayers, particularly the Maha Guru Prayer by Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal.

Zangdok Palri of Kurjey stands as both a tribute to the sacred Lotus Light Palace and a timeless testament to Bhutan’s spiritual legacy.

All proceeds from this book support The Gyalyum Kesang Choeden Wangchuck Trust Fund, dedicated to sustaining the livelihood and education of over 500 monastics, preserving Bhutan’s cultural and spiritual heritage, and advances crucial healthcare services— including eye care, cancer treatment, kidney support, intensive care, and palliative care.
