The Trashigang District Court has sentenced a 29-year-old man to 10 years in prison for committing an act of sexual intercourse with a girl aged over 12. The verdict was passed yesterday.

According to the judgement, the man came to the girl’s house in August and attempted to rape her. The man was arrested on the same day of the incident after the girl’s father informed the police.

The judgement also states that the man had attempted to rape the girl a month before the incident.
