A five-day eye camp in Wangdue Phodrang and Thimphu performed cataract surgeries on almost 150 people in the country. The camp initiated under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother Ashi Kesang Choeden Wangchuck was carried out by the world-renowned ophthalmologist Dr Sanduk Ruit. He was joined by a team from the Gyalyum Kesang Choeden Wangchuck National Eye Centre and Nepal’s Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology. The camp ended today, in Thimphu.
The camp, which is conducted annually in the country is supported by the Tej Kohli and Ruit Foundation. The foundation provides financial assistance to conduct 1,000 cataract surgeries in the country, every year.
