The Jaigoan police have arrested four men involved in the murder of a 33-year-old Bhutanese forest beat officer that took place on October 25. The incident had taken place near Hashimara, about 21 kilometres from Phuentsholing. The forester was stabbed on the neck.

All the four arrested have confessed to the crime.

They were arrested on Sunday evening. Of the four arrested, two men aged 25 and 28 are Bhutanese from Chhukha. The other two are Indians.

The two Bhutanese accused had hired the forester’s taxi from Phuentsholing to Gomtu. They were later joined by the other two Indian counterparts from Jaigoan.

Police said the four accused had planned to sell the Hyundai Santro taxi that belonged to the forester at the Indo-Nepal border. The vehicle was found at Siliguri and will be brought to Jaigoan soon.

Police are also investigating whether there are other probable causes that led to the murder,

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children. He was from Chuzargang under Sarpang dzongkhag.
