The sixth COVID-19 patient is in de-isolation after she tested negative twice within 24 hours. She will be declared recovered after completing 14 days of de-isolation and testing negative at the end of it.

According to the Health Minister Dechen Wangmo, the sixth case who was detected last month after returning from the Middle East, tested negative twice on the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on May 6th. Lyonpo said the patient is now in de-isolation in a hotel in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines.

With this, the country has only one COVID-19 case in the isolation ward. Lyonpo said the patient is stable.

Meanwhile, over 11,000 people were tested in the country until yesterday. 9,000 of them on rapid tests and about 2,400 by PCR tests.

And over 4,300 were discharged from facility quarantine but there are about 1,500 still in facility quarantine.

Having all imported cases, the country is still in orange zone.
