Eight comic books based on Bhutanese folk tales, legends and mythology were launched at Jigme Losel Primary School in Thimphu today.
The Information and Communication Minister, Nandalal Rai, launched the comic books.
The initiative to introduce Bhutanese comic books was carried out by the Department of Information and Media. The department’s officials say such initiatives are expected to promote storytelling culture as an integral part of the society like in the past.
About 2,400 copies of the comic books have been printed. It will be distributed to all the primary and lower secondary schools in Bhutan.
