His Majesty The King offered a statue of Tertoen Dorji Lingpa to the Busa Wangdue Goenpa of Saephu Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang yesterday.
The Goenpa was founded in the 17th century by a great Buddhist scholar, Tshungmey Tashi Tenzin, as his residence. Tshungmey Tashi Tenzin is believed to be the Heart Son of Terton Dorji Lingpa.
His Majesty offered prayers at the Goenpa.
Led by Busa Trulku Sonam Gyeltshen, the gewog representatives offered Ku Sung Thuk Ghi Mendrel to His Majesty The King.
Hundreds of people from the five chiwogs of Saephu gathered to meet His Majesty The King. His Majesty granted Tokha to them.
His Majesty is traveling to Lunana, trekking over the high passes of Thampe La, Rinchen Zoe la, Loju La and Jazi La.
