G2C Office hands over eServices to Gelegphu Thromde

The Government to Citizen or G2C office officially handed over eServices to Gelegphu Thromde on Friday.

With this, the office completes in making online most services provided by the four thromdes: Thimphu, Phuentshogling, Gelegphu and Samdrup Jongkhar.

Following the successful implementation of the eServices in Thimphu Thromde since 2015, the services were replicated in other thromdes.

“We have reduced the turnaround-time for the people. They can apply for the services from their residences,” Gelegphu Thrompon, Tikaram Kafley, adding: “For those illiterate, we advise them to seek help from the educated neighbours to avail service online. Else, we also ask them to come in person to our office.”

Since July last year, Gelephu Thromde received close to 500 applicants for its 10 various online services. Most applied for building construction approval. People can also apply online for new waterline and sewerage connections, and vacuum tanker service among others.

The G2C Office was established on 24 November 2015 through a Government Order of the Prime Minister under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The overall mandate of the G2C Office is improve public service delivery and reduce turnaround time for public service delivery.
