The Bhutan Narcotics Control Authority (BNCA) has collected close to Nu 65,000 in fines from the shopkeepers for illegal possession of narcotic substances.
The shopkeepers were caught during a string of surprise inspections carried out since January. The raids were carried out following complaints.
The authority has also fined people caught smoking in public places.
