Prime Minister at Jigmiling passing out parade

The passing out parade for the 50th batch of the new police recruits was held at the Jigmiling Police Training Institute in Sarpang, yesterday. A toral of 131 recruits, including 31 female passed out from the institute.

Prime Minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, who graced the ceremony congratulated the trainees for successfully completing their training. Lyonchhen reminded the new recruits to serve the King, Country and the People with utomts loyalty and dedication.

“From today onwards you are no more trainees but police personal. Serving as Police personally under the guidance of His Majesty, firstly insure country’s security, similarly community’s safety should be insured,” informed the Prime Minister to the gathering. “Moreover you all should shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding Nangtens of Lhakhang and Gyendeys.”

The trainees went through various outdoor activities including the training to handle weapons, drills, minor tactics, and games and sports. Subjects on Civil and Criminal Procedures Code and other laws were taught to the recruits. They will be sent to various divisions, check posts, and police stations across the country.

The Jigmiling Police Training Institute was established in 1969.
