Over 400 participants from 37 countries are taking part in the International Conference on Tradition and Innovation in Vajrayana Buddhism underway at the Royal Institute of Tourism and Hospitality in Thimphu.
The conference will broach upon issues of continuity and change within Himalayan Buddhist and yogic traditions.
There will also be discussion on mind-body practices that have been shown to bring significant improvement to human health and well beings.
The participants will also talk on Vajrayana Buddhism and its social application and the role of women in Vajrayana Buddhism.
The three-day conference is organised by the Central Monk Body and the Centre for Bhutan Studies.
