The recurring roadblocks at Boxcut which have hindered development for over two decades, especially in Zhemgang are likely to be resolved. A new 19-kilometre-long bypass road will be constructed at the Boxcut via the Tshachu area to address this issue. During the Meet the Press session today, Infrastructure and Transport Minister, Chandra Bahadur Gurung said the ministry has completed the Detailed Project Report and the construction will begin this fiscal year. The government spends about Nu 2 M every three months during the monsoon season to clear roads at Boxcut. Boxcut is located about 15 kilometres from Gelephu towards Zhemgang. In addition, a three-kilometre bypass will be constructed at the Rinchending Integrated Check Post in Chhukha to mitigate landslide risks.
