Royal visit to Haa concludes

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen returned to Thimphu after a Royal Visit to Haa Dzongkhag. During the six-day visit, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen visited schools, lhakhangs and villages. Their majesties met students, teachers, government officials, armed force personnel and locals. They also visited Haa town, Tagchu Gonpa, and IMTRAT. His Majesty granted an audience to government officials, Gups and Thromde Thuemi.

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen visited Haa town and interacted with thousands of people. Her Majesty inaugurated a day-care centre at Damthang, run by the Tensung Amusi Phenday Tshogpa for the children of soldiers.

Their Majesties visited Katsho lower secondary school yesterday, where His Majesty granted an audience to students and teachers. His Majesty accompanied by Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen visited homes and met with the people of Ingo village. His Majesty encouraged the people to increase agricultural production by using greenhouses, and to enhance their income through dairy farming.

Their Majesties visited one of the oldest traditional houses in Ingo, which has been preserved and is now a tourist attraction. His Majesty also granted picnic to Royal Bhutan Army personnel in Damthang.

In the evening, Their Majesties granted an audience to the members of the Tensung Amsui Phenday Tshogpa of Damthang. On Friday last week, His Majesty granted an audience to the students and teachers of Chundu Central School.HMVisitisYangto Gonpa

Their Majesties also visited the Yangto Gonpa and offered prayers. Later, His Majesty granted tokha to over 500 people of Bji and Katsho gewogs at Yangthang village.

In the evening, His Majesty visited Haa Fishery, where he granted an audience to the staff. On Thursday, His Majesty granted an audience to the Royal Bhutan Army troops at Damthang, and students and teachers of Damthang School.

Their Majesties also visited some of the oldest houses while visiting Chenpa and Geychhukha villages, including a century-old house said to belong to Haa Penlop.

Granting an audience to the people of the village, His Majesty expressed concerns over human-wildlife conflict, and inspected electric fences installed by the people.

His Majesty also granted an audience to entrepreneurs running farmhouse-style heritage resorts, having converted some of the oldest traditional houses in the area.HM-LhakhangKarpo

On Wednesday, the families of the RBA personnel in Damthang welcomed their Majesties to Damthang. His Majesty also granted an audience to the armed force personnel. Their Majesties also visited Gongzim Ugyen Dorji and Jamphel Higher Secondary Schools besides visiting Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo.

Their Majesties were accompanied by the Prime Minister and Members of Parliament from Haa.
