A team from Gomtu Middle Secondary School has won the first ever Women’s Open Football Tournament. The two week tournament, which ended yesterday, saw nine teams including a team from the Samtse College of Education.
The final was played between Gomtu Middle Secondary School and a team from Pugli Gewog. Gomtu won with a solitary goal. The tournament was organised by the Penden Sporting and Recreation Club of Penden Cement Authority Limited.
Along with trophies, Gomtu took home a prize money of Nu.15,000, and Pugli Nu.10,000.
