The National Council session concluded today with the endorsement of the revised Tshogpa salary and National Flag Bill 2011.

Tshogpas represent the village in the Gewog Administration and the Gewog Yargay Tshogchung, the Gewog Development Committee.

On the Tshogpa salary, the members agreed to support the pay raise as proposed by the government.

From January this year, the Tshogpas will be paid Nu.5,000 per month as salary.

The members also asked the government to study the feasibility of increasing the salary of the Thromdey Tshogpas.

Thromdey Tshogpas represent the town in the Dzongkhag Yargay Tshogdu, the district development committee.

As part of the concluding ceremony, the members offered payers to His Majesty the King and concluded with a Tashi Menlam.
