MoU to upgrade mental health care system

To further upgrade the mental health care system in the country, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health and the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.

The MoU was first signed in 2003 and today it was further revised and upgraded. The Director General of the Public Health, Dr. Dorji Wangchuk, said the MoU in 2003 immensely benefited in building the capacity of the health workers. He said Bhutan gets a lot of help in upgrading the mental health care as mental health problem are increasing in the country over the years.

While in the country, the Thai delegation will study the health care system and follow up on the collaborative programme and exchange ideas in the mental health field.
