Karma Gyambo wins 2023 Mr Bhutan title

Karma Gyambo won this year’s Mr Bhutan title at the 12th National Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship. It was held in the capital today. 26 men and women took part in the championship. They competed in three categories such as Men’s Open Body Building, Men’s Sports Physique, and Women’s Model Physique categories.

37-year-old Karma Gyambo is a father of two who was also the runner-up in the 2022 National Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship. He also participated in the Asian Championship in 2015 and stood fifth.

He said “since 2015, I have participated in Mr Bhutan for more than three times. Last year, I was the runner-up in the championship. I worked hard for the last six months. Therefore, I am glad to win the title of Mr Bhutan for the first time.”

From seven women participating in the Women’s Model Physique category, Ugyen Pema won the title. And Mahalal Rai won the title in the Men’s Sports Physique category.11 men took part in the category.

According to the Bhutan Bodybuilding Association, the championship is aimed at promoting health, fitness, and nutrition.
