His Royal Highness Gyaltshab Jigme Dorji Wangchuck graced the consecration ceremony of Sangay Chholing Lhakhang at Jarey Geog in Lhuntse. The consecration Ceremony was held on 9 December.
Gangtey Trulku Kunzang Gigdzin Pema Namgyal presided over the Tendrel Sungchhog, performed by over fifty monks. The program included Tashi Ngasoel ceremony, offering of Zhabten to His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. Gangtey Trulku offered Tashi Dzegay and Ku-Sung-Thugten Mendrel to His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab.
His Royal Highness the Gyaltshab offered prayers in the Lhakhang for the wellbeing of His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the country and the sentient beings. His Royal Highness then interacted with the local people, who offered Tshogchang. Various cultural programs were also organized.
The construction of the Lhakhang, which began in 2004, was complete in 2009 with labor contribution from the people of Jarey Geog. The civil servants of Jarey community provided the financial support to construct the Lhakhang. The Lhakhang benefits over 150 households of Jarey Geog. His Majesty the King granted the Nangtens of Lhakhang, which includes statues of Guru, Tenpa and Zhabdrung.
Gangtey Trulku established a Shedra in the Lhakhang in 2010. Currently there are seventeen monks studying in the Shedra.
