Bhutan ranks 31 among the least corrupted countries from the 177 countries in this year’s corruption perception index. Among the SAARC countries, Bhutan ranks number one.

Bhutan was the 33rd country in 2012. In 2011, it was at the 38th position. This year’s corruption perception index also reveals that the most corrupted countries are Somalia, North Korea, Sudan and Afghanistan.

The index is created by Transparency International-a global civil society organisation established in 1993.
