CybercrimeIn an effort to fight against cyber crime, Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay held a high-level meeting with the relevant stakeholders in the capital, today.

The meeting decided to set up a separate Cyber Unit in the Office of the Attorney General, which will specialise in cyber crime.

Ministry of Information and Communications will update the Bhutan Information, Communications and Media Act to strengthen legislation and regulations on cyber crime.

The government will work with the media to educate the public on cyber crime including online harassment and cyber bullying.

Meanwhile, police officers will also be trained to deal with all forms of cyber crime.

Prime Minister instructed all the relevant organizations to step up their activities to control the illegal production and distribution of obscene content.
