The construction of a farm road to Philooma chiwog in Samdrup Jongkhar will finally materialize. The plan to construct the farm road remain stalled up until now as the villagers and and its gewog administration failed to reach agreement on the road’s feasibility plan.

Recently, a team from the dzongkhag administration visited the chiwog to conduct a feasibility study of an alternate route. Their plan was presented to the villagers during a consultative meeting.

“The earlier plan was to clear the road from Wooling. But now it has been changed for the benefit of the villagers. We are really happy with change in the plan,” said Richen from Philooma.

The dzongkhag has allocated 4 million ngultrum for the work. The amount, however, is enough to able clear only a few kilometers of the 17-kilomtere farm road. The remaining work will be completed in the first year of the 12th Five Year Plan.
