PelingWanglungThe three-week long Peling Wang Lung presided over by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche at Bartsham in Trashigang concluded on Thrusday.

The Peling Wang Lung or the oral transmission of Terton Pema Lingpa was attended by thousands of devotees from across the country.

Dzongsar Jamyang Khentse Rinpoche administered the Wanlung. It was organized in Chador Lhakhang in Bartsham.

“Terton Pema Lingpa is one of the treasure revelers in our Himalayan region. He revealed many treasures like mind, earth and sky. Without having empowerment one cannot practice any derma or vajrayana Buddhism. Empowerment means you are initiated or authorised to practice,” said the Director of Paro Museum, Khenpo Phuntsho Tashi. He people are fully liberated after they receive explanations or the discourse following the empowerment.PelingWanglung.

The Peling Wang Lung was held after a gap of 42 years. His Eminence Dujom Rinpoche administered the first Peling Wang Lung in Pemagatshel in the 1970’s. The devotees requested Rinpoche for the Wanglung this time.

Devotees said such oral transmission is rare and they are fortunate to receive the empowerment from Rinpoche.

The Wang Lung began from December 20 last year.  Devotees from as far as Thimphu, Paro and Bumthang attended the Wang Lung.
