Rollergate-CentenaryChildren'sPark(Update): The Thimphu Thromde has repaired the iron gate of the Centenary Children’s Park that fell on a two-year-old toddler.

The gate had come out of alignment and without a support to secure the gate, it had fallen on the boy-child on Saturday injuring him. The injuries had proven fatal and the toddler succumbed to it the following day.

According to the observers, the gate is heavy enough to take an adult’s life had it been an adult in the place of the toddler on the fateful day.

Meanwhile, the incident has angered many people. They say it is the sheer negligence of the Thimphu Thromde for being unable to locate or inspect the weak infrastructure so to avoid the fatal incident.

Even though the park has two caretakers, Thimphu Thromde is yet to appoint somebody to inspect and maintain the infrastructure.
