To review the progress of development, the Prime Minister, Jigmi Y. Thinley visited Bongo Gewog, one of the remote gewogs under Chhukha dzongkhag, yesterday.

In an interaction with the villagers, Lyonchhoen spoke on the importance of exercising voting rights by choosing the right party inthe upcoming elections.

“Only you as an individual have the power to exercise your vote. You have to listen to every party, critically analyse which party will serve you the best and vote for it,” said the Prime Minister.

Chhukha dzongkhag, as of now, has achieved 92 percent in terms of the rural electrification and 98 percent net enrollment

The gewog also has access to farm roads. Except for Getana and Geling gewog, all the gewogs under Chhukha dzongkhag will be connected with farm roads by the end of the tenth five year plan.

Lyonchhoen said because of road connectivity, they will get better teachers. “Government officials can also make frequent visits to address your needs. It is convenient to take sick people to the hospital and also for the health workers to come to your village.”

For water supply, of the 91 schemes, 81 have been completed and the rest will be complete in couple of months.
