The community quarantine of Tshongdzom village in Samtse Gewog has been lifted this afternoon.

The village was put under quarantine since July 14 after a 20-year-old man entered the country without following proper COVID-19 protocols.

Police arrested the man after 10 days of his clandestine entry in the country. The man, who was put in quarantine, is now under custody.

Similarly, home quarantine for the contacts of a man who entered Gooma village in Yoeseltse Gewog earlier this month has ended, yesterday.

The man has also completed his quarantine and is now under custody.

All the culprits will be charged with breach of border security protocols, criminal nuisance, and breach of public order and tranquillity.

Meanwhile, contacts of a 24-year-old man from Rinchhenphu, also in Yoeseltse Gewog, who entered the country on July 18 are still in home quarantine.

The man is reported to have been working in Jaigaon in India since March.
