The Jomotsangkhag Dungkhag Court in Samdrup Jongkhar sentenced a 22-year-old man from Serthig to five years in prison for illicit trafficking of cannabis and its derivatives.
The court passed the judgement yesterday.
The convict was spotted carrying cannabis in a vehicle in May 2016, but he fled the scene.
He was arrested in September last year. He had 25 kilograms of cannabis in his vehicle at the time of the arrest.
