Opposition wants government to immediately shut down BOiCThe Opposition wants the government to immediately shut down Business and Information Centre (BOiC) as announced a few months ago. The opposition says the government should hand over the assets and portfolio to Bhutan Development Bank rather than starting a State-owned Enterprise.

A release from the Opposition said the government should submit a detailed report to the parliament on loan disbursement and the expenses incurred in establishing and operating the centre.

“BOiC, we have seen, has a lot of legal issues. We are not the only one who has objected with the creation of BOiC right from the beginning, even the National Council and other entities have objected to the creation of BOiC,” said Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s Secretary General

He said they propose three recommendations.

“First of all, BOiC should close down. Secondly, the fund should be handed over to BDBL. Thirdly, the government must prepare report on the loan disbursement so far and the report should be presented to the Joint sitting of the parliament.
