Matter of great urgency to provide high-end tourism to Indian tourists- PM More than a year ago, over a 100,000 tourists from India visited Bhutan. Of the total more than 60,000 tourists were from West Bengal. “It is a matter of great urgency for the government to see how to provide high value of tourism experience to regional tourists from West Bengal and India,” said the Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay.

Lyonchhen was speaking to the press after his meeting with India’s West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, yesterday. He said Bhutan has not thought of how to provide high value tourism to the regional tourists, especially from West Bengal.

Especially after Narendra Modi’s visit, many tourists visited Bhutan and now after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s visit I can see many more tourists visiting Bhutan.”
