Samdrup Jongkhar to be electrified in its entirety

Samdrup Jongkhar to be electrified in its entiretyBy the end of this month, all the 11 gewogs of Samdrup Jongkhar will be connected with electricity. Currently, electrification works are underway in Lauri Gewog, one of the most remote gewogs in the dzongkhag and also the last one  to be connected.

For now, only about 20 households in Phajo Goenpa under Lauri Gewog are without electricity. Electrification works for these households will be complete by end of this month.Samdrup Jongkhar to be electrified in its entirety-

Zangthig, another village in the same gewog was electrified  about a week ago.

The Rural Electrification Division office in Samdrup Jongkhar said the project is worth about Nu 150 M.
